ACCOMPLISHMENTS WHILE SERVING ON THE BOARD

  • Kept the tax levy flat for three straight years
  • Formed a partnership with Three Rivers Park District to combine resources to collectively operate all regional parks and trails in Scott County
  • Streamlined divisions within the County and reduced employees by approximately 80 county employees through attrition, buyouts and layoffs; counting on staff to do more with less to help ease tax payer burden
  • Saved the County millions of dollars by restructuring employee contracts
  • Improved bond rating which saves tax payer dollars each year
  • Ensured save and efficient County Roads by pushing through numerous road projects such as County Road 44 & 27, Highway 101 & 13, extending County Road 21 to Highway 169
  • Opened mixed use facility in Elko New Market which houses the new library and County Service Center
  • Successfully planned the building and opening of a new library in Jordan
  • Supports economic development by enticing major companies to relocate or expand existing operations in Scott County
  • Saved Scott County residents tax dollars by not starting new unneeded and wasteful programs
  • Attends nearly every meeting of townships and cities within District 2 (and often times other Districts)
  • Serves on many county, state and regional boards, including: Vermillion River, Workforce Board, Extension, Farm Advisory Board, Emergency Services Board, Metro Energy Services Committee
  • I have responded to hundreds of emails and phone calls from residents looking for help in resolving various matters; this level of service is what makes me a unique commissioner.
